Web Ninja Support Page
Information
Web Ninja is a MacOS application and system extension combination that automatically
monitors your activity on the World Wide Web (WWW) when using Web browsers
such as Netscape Navigator. The Web Ninja extension keeps track of where
you go, how many times you go there, when you go there, and how much time
you spend there. The Web Ninja application displays this information, and
allows you to quickly "jump" to any location in the list, which,
of course, is anywhere you have been before.
In addition, Web Ninja allows you to setup as many customized lists of WWW
and ftp sites you wish in a manner similar to the "Bookmarks"
feature of many browsers. You can also establish a "Download"
list, which consist of a list of Web pages or ftp files to download in a
single batch operation to disk.
MacUser's Web Ninja is available exclusively from the ZD Net/Mac service
on CompuServe (GO ZMC:MACUSER) and on the Web at Mac User online www.zdnet.com/macuser.
System Requirements
- MacOS System 7.0.1 or later

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
The following is a compilation of frequently asked questions regarding Web
Ninja. Check back periodically as more questions will be added to this list
as they come in. If you have a question that is not shown here, send email
to wtudor@albany.net.
Q. What Web Browsers does Web Ninja work with?
A. Netscape Navigator, Internet Explorer, and Spyglass Mosaic.
Q. Where does the Web Ninja Extension keep its data?
A. In the Preferences folder in a file named "Web Ninja Data".
Q. Does the Web Ninja Extension patch into the system, possibly causing
instability or slowdowns?
A. No. In fact, the Web Ninja Extension is really what is known as a "faceless
background only application". It behaves like any other application,
only it has no user interface. You use the Web Ninja application for that.
Q. Why is the Web Ninja Extension required?
A. The Web Ninja Extension monitors Web activity. When you are not using
your browser, it does nothing but wait for the browser to open up. The extension
is used so that you do not need to launch a "monitoring" program
when you launch your browser program. You just surf the new the way you
have always down and Web Ninja works in the background.
Q. If I open additional browser windows in Netscape, will Web Ninja
keep track of them all?
A. Yes, Web Ninja will keep track of as many browser windows as you like.
Q. If I run two different browsers at the same time, will Web Ninja
keep track of both of them?
A. No. Web Ninja can only work with one browser at a time.
Q. Can I delete an entry in the Web Ninja log window?
A. No, this window keeps track of where you have been and cannot be edited.
If your browser is not up, you can delete the file named "Web Ninja
Data" in the preferences folder to remove all of the data.
Q. How many URL's will Web Ninja keep track of?
A. The last 4,096 places you have visited.
Q. How do I report bugs or other problems with the program?
A. Send email to me (Bill Tudor) at wtudor@albany.net.
